PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
Our preschool classroom is for 3-year-old children who will turn four during the school year. Teachers guide our preschoolers with activities that spark curiosity and discovery in a play-based environment. Children begin to recognize letters and their sounds as we introduce the alphabet. Mathematical concepts are available to explore through patterning, sorting, building blocks, beads and magnatiles. Our housekeeping areas provides an opportunity for dramatic play where children can creatively practice language and their real-life observations. At the art tables children create and express their own ideas.
Each day in preschool includes free play, class meeting time, snack, self- and teacher-directed project times and outdoor play (the gym is available for inclement weather).
Preschool Schedule
8:30 – 9:00: Arrival + Free Play
9:00 – 9:30: Outdoor Play (weather permitting)
9:30 – 9:45: Bathroom*
9:45 – 10:15: Morning Meeting
10:15 – 11:15: Teacher Directed Activities + Snack
11:15 – 11:30: Clean up
11:30 – 12:15: Outdoor Play/Gym
12:13 – 12:30: Story + Dismissal
Extended Day Schedule
8:30 – 9:10: Bathroom* + Handwashing
12:30 – 1:15: Lunch
1:15 – 2:45: Activity of the Day
2:45 – 3:45: Outdoor Play
3:45 – 4:00: Storytime + Dismissal
*Children who are potty trained will be taken to the bathroom at these times and on a “need to go” basis.
