TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
Our Transitional Kindergarten classroom is for those children who are one year away from kindergarten. This program is a perfect introduction to the routines and expectations of a kindergarten class while, at the same time keeping all activities age appropriate for preschoolers. Our TK curriculum is designed to both keep pace and challenge each child at his / her own learning level cognitively, socially and physically. Independent and group learning centers are available in language and literacy, math and science, and art. In this last year of preschool, an emphasis will be put on the practice and development of important school-age skills including the ability to sit and listen in a group, follow multiple step directions within a group and independently, and advocate for themselves with both peers and teachers when help is needed. Teachers will instill and model an enthusiasm for learning, respect and empathy for others, along with kindergarten readiness skills.
