TRANSITIONAL PRESCHOOL
Our Transitional Preschool classroom is a perfect stepping stone into preschool. It was created for those children whose birthday falls after August 31st (which is the kindergarten cutoff date in MA) giving these children another year of preschool in a classroom not to be missed at Seaside.
During this year of development most children are finding their way out of parallel play and into cooperative play with support and modeling from the teachers. Our play-based curriculum in our center-based classroom allows for self-directed play and learning while also offering many opportunities for peer interaction.
In order to provide a comfortable flow to each day, the teachers establish a consistent daily schedule and routine. This is reassuring to a young child. Each day in TP includes free play and exploration, class meeting time, snack, self- and teacher- directed project times and outdoor play (the gym is available for inclement weather).
